AI Lease Abstraction reads your uploaded lease documents and extracts the key details — dates, contacts, rent schedules, options, and more — into a structured draft you can review and import. It speeds up the same data entry covered in Lease Abstraction: the AI proposes the values, and you decide what to import.
Before you start
Upload your lease documents to the lease record first. Spacebase processes each file automatically so the AI can read it.

Open the AI Abstraction tab
Open the lease and click Edit to enter the abstract view, then select the AI Abstraction tab in the sidebar menu. The tab appears only when AI is enabled for your account — see Getting access. Run the extraction
Click Run AI Extraction. Spacebase reads the lease documents and extracts the key details into a draft. Each run is saved as a version.
Review the extracted data
The results are grouped into sections that mirror a lease record:
- Lease Basics
- Critical Dates
- Address
- Contacts
- Areas
- Expense Schedules
- Options
- Deposits
- TI Allowances
- Termination Notice
Each extracted value includes a citation linking to its page in the source document, and a built-in PDF viewer shows the document alongside the results so you can confirm accuracy. Import what you need
In each section, click Import Data to write the extracted values into the lease record. Review every section before publishing the lease.
Lease file ingestion
Spacebase processes (ingests) each lease file you upload so it can be searched and abstracted. On the Files tab, each file shows a status icon — hover it to see the current ingestion stage. If a file fails to process, re-trigger ingestion from the file list.
AI Lease Abstraction handles the first pass of data entry. You stay in control: review each section and import only the values you want before publishing the lease.
