# Spacebase AI

> Lease analysis, portfolio insights, and automated lease abstraction, powered by AI.

Spacebase includes two AI features that work with your existing data: a conversational **AI Assistant** that answers questions about your portfolio, and **AI Lease Abstraction** that extracts lease details from your documents. Both stay scoped to your company's data.

## Getting access

AI features are opt-in and off by default. Access is controlled in two layers:

* **Company** — Your organization must have the Spacebase AI module enabled. Contact your account manager to turn it on.
* **User** — Each user needs the **Access AI functionality** permission. An administrator grants this from [User Account & Access Settings](/general/user-access).

Once both are in place, the **Agent** button appears in the top navigation and the **AI Abstraction** tab appears on each lease.

  The AI Assistant is read-only. It can search, analyze, and summarize your data, but it can't change leases, accounting records, or settings. All results are limited to your company's data.
